This season, the Rams baseball team looks as strong as ever.  With a plethora of upperclassmen leadership, the boys are looking to make the state tournament.  The team looks to benefit from the recent conference change and capitalize on the new schedule.  Junior outfielder Kevin Babcock said, “The new conference definitely favors us, and I hope we can get eight wins and qualify for the tournament.”

The team is predominately seniors this year and they should be able to provide a strong nucleus for the squad.  Pitchers like Eric Chase and Chris Messenger are both returning starters that look to have a successful season.  Also, pitcher Austin West is looking to have a break out year on the hill.  On top of that, seniors Kevin Hatch and Steve Monaghan will provide consistent play on offense and defense for the team.
Juniors who are looking to thrive this season are Kevin Babcock, Bryan Leonard, and Patrick Witham.  Kevin is a jet in the outfield, and his offensive performance rarely fluctuates.  Bryan Leonard returns to the team after taking a year off last season.  Leonard is a natural baseball player and will most likely return to his spot in the middle infield.  Patrick Witham has anticipated the new season for a while and is already getting his work in with the pitchers and catchers.
All in all, the team has all the right ingredients to be successful this season, and hopefully that will translate into a spot in the state tournament.
